Migration
Switch to Bytedocks.
Keep your scrapers. Change the gateway, username flags and invoice. Most teams finish a first successful request the same day they buy bandwidth.
What you actually change
A proxy client is a host, a port and a username/password pair. Targeting lives in the username. You do not rewrite Playwright, Scrapy or your AI agent — you swap the connection string and re-test geo.
- Buy Budget or Premium residential GB, or an ISP plan, in the dashboard.
- Open the generator. Copy host, port, username and password.
- Replace the old provider string in your client. Keep the same protocol (HTTP 7777 or SOCKS5 1080).
- Hit https://ip-api.com/json or the free Proxy Checker before you turn the job loose.
Username flags (Premium Residential)
Flags are appended to the base username with dashes. Country targeting is an ISO alpha-2 code. Sticky sessions use a session id plus optional TTL in minutes.

GATEWAY:1080:USER-country-DE:PASS What we will not claim
We will not invent Bright Data, Oxylabs or Decodo list prices, pool sizes or “success rates”. Those numbers change by contract. Compare on: pay-as-you-go vs. minimums, country/city/ASN targeting, HTTP + SOCKS5, API/sub-users, and whether an engineer answers the ticket.
Setup
- Create the account. Register on bytedocks.io. Verify email if you want the inbox path; the dashboard works after login.
- Buy the network you already use. Budget residential for volume crawls. Premium residential when the target fingerprints TCP/IP or city/ASN. Mobile for carrier-only apps. ISP when one IP must last days.
- Generate one proxy. Dashboard → product setup → generate. Do not paste real credentials into public gists.
- Prove the exit. curl or the Proxy Checker. Confirm country and that the target host loads. Then point the existing job at the new gateway.
FAQ
Do I need to change my scraper?
No. Keep Playwright, Scrapy, requests or your agent. Only the proxy URL changes.
Is there a lock-in contract?
Bandwidth is pay-as-you-go. ISP is billed per IP and days. There is no annual commit on the public plans.
Can I run Premium and Budget together?
Yes. They are separate pools and generators. Pick per job, not per account.
